BiBi is an apartment in Virage, Dakar, rented on Airbnb. The whole apartment was redesigned with luxury hotels and venues as the benchmark. Guests arrive for a few nights, so every room had to feel finished from the first minute: warm light, soft seating, a kitchen ready to cook in and two bedrooms with the comfort of a good hotel. The plan came first: the living room and kitchen open into one shared space, both bedrooms are finished to the same standard so neither feels like the lesser room, and the terrace is furnished as one more room to live in.
The palette runs through the whole apartment. Ivory bouclé and linen keep the rooms light, walnut joinery and backlit niches give them warmth, and cushions in olive, rust and chocolate tie one room to the next. Outside, the terrace carries the same tones into the open air.

The kitchen opens onto the living room. Walnut cabinets run the length of the wall, and a white marble island with wooden stools serves as both breakfast bar and worktop. Trailing plants hang above the counter, and a lattice screen lit from behind separates the kitchen from the entrance.

A sculpted white panel stands against a wall of veined marble, above a long headboard in cognac. White bedding, a chocolate throw and walnut bedside tables keep the room calm, while a mirrored wardrobe and a vanity with an organic mirror complete the suite.

A black channelled headboard spans the wall, crossed by a curved line of light that ends in a circle. Brass globe pendants hang on either side, a striped ivory duvet and a chocolate throw dress the bed, and sheer curtains filter the daylight.

Under a timber pergola, built in white benches with terracotta cushions line the walls. Round stepping stones cross the grass between rattan poufs and low tables, and a bed of tropical plants runs along the top of the wall.
